Tasmanian Whisky and Spirits Association

The Tasmanian Whisky & Spirits Association (TWSA) is the peak industry body helping to drive the growth and development of the distilling industry in Tasmania.

To date, the success of Tasmanian whiskies, gins, vodka and other spirits nationally and internationally has not been backed by the research and strategic framework needed to steer the industry to even greater success.

Inclusive Creatives was selected as part of a team of specialists to help form a reference document that not only presented a framework for innovation and growth but also celebrated industry players, from the so-called Godfathers of the industry to the new generation of distillers and changemakers taking over the reins.


The Result
A comprehensive plan that serves as a roadmap for stakeholders, including 80+ distilleries (and increasing) statewide, producers, and government bodies, to collaborate and participate in a thriving and sustainable sector.
It also emphasised the importance of preserving Tasmania’s reputation for exceptional quality and craftsmanship – ensuring that every product maintains the highest standards by harnessing our unique natural resources.

Our job was to design the Blueprint document to encapsulate both research insights and human-centred storytelling content to reflect our uniquely Tasmanian brand and the confident, flourishing industry.

The process included strategic advice, stakeholder consultation, and market analysis. With it all wrapped up in an elegant and accessible document designed by our multi-skilled creative team from initial brief through to production.


Key aspects of the blueprint to present in written, visual graphics and photographic imagery included:

  • Highlighting the rich history, successes and future aspirations of new and inter-generational practitioners.
  • Fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing throughout the industry.
  • Promoting sustainable practices in production and packaging.
  • Encouraging the development of whisky and spirits-centric tourism experiences.
  • Outlining growth strategies through export opportunities globally.
  • Identifying investment opportunities and stimulating employment growth.
  • Present Tasmania as one of the best destinations for whisky and spirits enthusiasts.

In partnership with 3P Advisory and Creak & Ford research consultants, we delivered the Industry Blueprint in both digital and printed form that reflected the spirit, sophistication and passion of the industry, which was publicly launched by Premier Jeremy Rockliff in 2023.
