Flinders Island Aboriginal Association
The Flinders Island Aboriginal Association Inc. (FIAAI) delivers an extensive range of essential services that support Aboriginal communities across Flinders Island and Tasmania, including primary health, aged care, housing, youth services, enterprise development, and statewide health promotion initiatives.
The organisation also operates successful community enterprises including Thule Farm, the Bakery Café and Furneaux Tavern.
Inclusive Creatives was engaged to capture the essence of the Island community and create a contemporary communications platform that better reflected the organisation’s purpose, culture and growing impact, while making it easier for community members, stakeholders and partners to connect with the many services FIAAI provides.
The Challenge
Over many years, FIAAI had grown into a diverse organisation delivering a wide range of community services and health programs. While its work continued to expand, its digital tools no longer reflected the organisation’s scale, professionalism, or accessibility.
The challenge wasn’t simply to develop a new website. It was to create a clear, engaging communication framework that unified FIAAI’s services, strengthened its identity, improved accessibility, and better told the organisation’s story.
Our Approach
Working collaboratively with the FIAAI leadership team, we developed a website centred around community needs, cultural authenticity and ease of navigation.
Rather than presenting services in isolation, the website was designed to tell the broader FIAAI story with a collective voice and community-led imagery, bringing together health, housing, aged care, youth programs, community enterprises and employment opportunities into one cohesive, accessible platform.
Extending the Partnership
Beyond the website redevelopment, we contributed production oversight, social media scheduling and community management, and coordination of digital advertising delivery in partnership with Kings Digital, as part of the Flip the Vape Tasmania campaign led and authored by Mo Works for FIAAI.
The Outcome
FIAAI now has a contemporary communications platform that better represents the breadth of its services, strengthens community engagement and supports future organisational growth.
The entire FIAAI project shows how good strategy, inclusive design and working together can help organisations connect more meaningfully with their communities and achieve better results.
