Littlewood Berry Farm

Littlewood Farm had grown into much more than a pick-your-own berry farm.

Alongside the berry farm, Littlewood Lamb was gaining national attention and winning local producer awards. The Jam Gin and Strawberry Liqueur business was also growing, and there were plans to introduce school group visits and host weddings and events at the farm.

The Challenge

Sophie and her team were managing several different parts of the business without a clear overarching identity or a website that brought everything together. Customers relied heavily on word of mouth, seasonal opening information and Facebook, where the visual communication was inconsistent and felt increasingly disconnected from the quality of the products and experience.

There was also no real shopfront. Orders and deliveries were being managed manually, meaning the phone never seemed to stop ringing.

The challenge was to bring all of these growing businesses together and create a brand and digital experience that could support where Littlewood was going next.

Our Approach

We started by looking at Littlewood as a farm experience, rather than a collection of products and services.

The new brand needed to work across very different parts of the business — lamb, berries, gin, ice cream, school groups and events — while still feeling like they belonged to the same place. We also wanted to make the experience much easier for customers.

Instead of simply building a website full of information, we created a digital front door to the farm where people could find opening hours, plan their visit, order products, book a school visit or plan their wedding.

We developed the brand architecture to give each part of the business its own identity while clearly connecting
it back to Littlewood Farm. And importantly, we kept Sophie at the heart of it.

The Solution

We created a bold, charming identity that deliberately moved away from the predictable cottage-style aesthetic often associated with farm businesses.

Inspired by the farm and its produce, we created
warmth while maintaining a contemporary edge, along with a simple suite of custom illustrations that gave the brand its own visual shorthand.

The identity was then designed to be genuinely useful.

It could move from the website to social media, from lamb packaging to berry boxes, from vehicle livery to event collateral.

The Result

Littlewood now has a brand and online experience that brings the farm’s different businesses together and gives customers a much easier way to engage with them.

The growth has been tangible with weddings booked months ahead, school group waiting lists, the
strawberry patch regularly picked out, and lamb sold
out within days online.

Most importantly, Littlewood has moved from relying on word of mouth, social media and manual processes to having a recognisable brand and digital home capable of supporting the next stage of the farm’s growth.
